How it Works
Juvéderm XC is injected under the skin using a fine needle. Prior to injection, the specialist may numb the treatment area with a topical anesthetic, though it isn’t necessary since treatment isn’t painful and will only cause minor discomfort. After the injections are complete, the physician will gently massage the treatment areas. The entire process will only take 15 minutes to an hour, depending on the treatment area. The recovery time is minimal, allowing individuals to return to regular activities the same day.
What to Expect
Individuals will see visible results immediately after injection with Juvéderm XC. Results will vary for each person but should last up to one year after one treatment. We recommend receiving touch-up injections to maintain optimal results.
For the first 24 hours after treatment, individuals should avoid engaging in strenuous physical activity, excessive sun and heat exposure, and alcohol consumption. It’s also important to be careful when applying make-up. This will help reduce the risk of possible side-effects, such as swelling, redness, itching, or bumps. These side effects are usually mild to moderate and resolve within seven days. Applying an ice pack for a brief period of time may help minimize these side effects.
