Juvederm XC

Juvéderm XC is an injectable, hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler used to smooth the skin and improve facial contour. Hyaluronic acid is the active ingredient, a naturally-occurring sugar found in the body that stimulates collagen production in the skin, attracts water, minimizes the appearance of unwanted lines, and enhances the lips, cheeks, and jawline.

The filler adds volume and definition to the facial features while maintaining a natural, symmetrical, and healthy appearance. Individuals who would like to restore fullness in their cheeks or chin, minimize the appearance of smile lines, and improve the appearance of their lips and jawline should consider Juvéderm XC. The filler can be used for various cosmetic purposes.

How it Works

How it Works

Juvéderm XC is injected under the skin using a fine needle. Prior to injection, the specialist may numb the treatment area with a topical anesthetic, though it isn’t necessary since treatment isn’t painful and will only cause minor discomfort. After the injections are complete, the physician will gently massage the treatment areas. The entire process will only take 15 minutes to an hour, depending on the treatment area. The recovery time is minimal, allowing individuals to return to regular activities the same day.

Real Results

Your Consultation

Before treatment, individuals will need to answer their specialist’s questions about medical history, including any medication they may be taking or known allergies.
The aesthetician will examine the individual’s skin and measure the depth of their wrinkles or folds to determine the type of filler and treatment necessary for each individual.
Because each individual is unique and has personal cosmetic goals, it’s important to discuss treatment expectations prior to the treatment.
During the initial consultation, the specialist will determine if Juvéderm XC is the right filler for the individual and decide how much filler is necessary to enhance their appearance.
A week before the procedure, individuals should avoid taking aspirin and other anti-inflammatory drugs that thin the blood. This will help reduce the risk of bruising at the injection site.

What to Expect

Woman with symmetrical face after treatment with Juvéderm XC

Individuals will see visible results immediately after injection with Juvéderm XC. Results will vary for each person but should last up to one year after one treatment. We recommend receiving touch-up injections to maintain optimal results.

For the first 24 hours after treatment, individuals should avoid engaging in strenuous physical activity, excessive sun and heat exposure, and alcohol consumption. It’s also important to be careful when applying make-up. This will help reduce the risk of possible side-effects, such as swelling, redness, itching, or bumps. These side effects are usually mild to moderate and resolve within seven days. Applying an ice pack for a brief period of time may help minimize these side effects.
