Sculptra

Sculptra Before & Afters

Collagen is a fibrous protein found deep under the skin that gives skin structure and supports the functions of elastin and hyaluronic acid, which help maintain the skin’s shape, smoothness, and hydration. A healthy supply of collagen ensures a youthful appearance.

Sculptra is an FDA-approved injectable that helps gradually replace lost collagen, a protein in the body that is used to form a framework that supports cells and tissue. Treatment with Sculptra can deliver results that last up to two years.

Why Sculptra?

Why Sculptra?

Unlike other anti-aging treatments, Sculptra addresses an underlying cause of facial aging, not just the symptoms. Collagen creams, for example, don’t fully penetrate to the dermis. This means most topical treatments only act as moisturizers that briefly improve the skin’s appearance. Collagen supplements are processed by the digestive system, where it breaks down collagen proteins. Their effectiveness is currently unknown.

Toxins like Botox temporarily weaken muscles to minimize frown lines in the forehead but don’t have a long-lasting effect on collagen production. Results typically last a few months. Dermal fillers work immediately upon injection to fill in lines, wrinkles, and folds but don’t have a long-lasting effect on collagen production.

The Sculptra Difference

Sculptra is a poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) collagen stimulator, which means it helps restore the deep, underlying structure of the skin to minimize the appearance of facial wrinkles.
Poly-L-lactic acid is a biocompatible, biodegradable, and synthetic material that is gradually and naturally absorbed by the body.
Sculptra works with the body deep under the skin to help boost collagen production and restore the skin’s inner structure and volume.
The absorption of Sculptra PLLA microparticles stimulates collagen production.
Rebuilt collagen strands gradually begin to help restore facial volume and the look of fullness to wrinkles and folds.

Who Benefits from Sculptra?

Woman receiving Sculptra injections
Sculptra is for adults with healthy immune systems. A specialist will use a small needle to inject Sculptra in or under the facial skin to correct shallow to deep nasolabial fold contour deficiencies and other facial wrinkles. Over time, Sculptra will help the body reproduce lost collagen.

The number of treatment sessions and injections that are needed per appointment will vary from person to person, depending on the severity of collagen loss. Typically, individuals need three injection appointments over a period of a few months.
