About Spider Veins
Spider veins occur as a result of weakness or damage in the veins. Spider veins may appear blue, purple, or red and have a web-like structure. When the one-way valve inside a vein stops working properly, blood may pool inside the vein and cause a bulge that branches out and forms a spider vein.
Risk factors for spider veins include genetics, pregnancy, being female, older age, high body mass index, hormonal birth control, and sun damage.
Though spider veins aren’t painful or harmful, many individuals choose to undergo cosmetic treatment. Form MD Aesthetics offers laser vein removal to destroy spider veins and clear up skin.
